John Holm

John Holm is an artist and a surfer. While attending high school in Northern California, he and his friends would haul their boards in the back of a pickup over to Half Moon Bay or as far south as Steamer’s. As a student at the Art Center in Los Angeles, he surfed Malibu, watched Miki Dora and got pounded at the Wedge. After a 35 year career in advertising, John began painting again, developing a fluid impressionistic style that captures the beauty and the essence of surfing.

John Holm now lives in Seattle, and is still surfing. Like the rest of us, he much prefers the warm waters of Hawaii – not far from where he discovered surfing as a young boy on Oahu's North Shore. You never forget your first love…
